Out of Stock.

Due to a natural gas explosion at our shop, Art Work Rebels, all of my prints are out of stock.  Thankfully, there were no life-threatening injuries. Everyone from the shop is safe.  We have been blown away by the generosity of our community.

I am starting a pre-sale on 2 new prints: Ordovician Obduro I, and Ordovician Obduro II.  I am printing them at a reduced size, approximately 24 x 15 inches, and priced at $100 each.  As always, they are printed by Jay Foran of Island Digital on watercolor paper with 100-yr archival inks.  If you've seen his work, then you know it is second-to-none.

Thank you very much for the continued support!

The Ema Show 2016, Hatos Bar, Tokyo

Opening Reception: Saturday February 13

I will have 3 new works hanging in a trio of shows organized by Hellion Gallery.  The first installment will be hosted by Hatos in Tokyo.  The roster of artists is truly impressive, and all pieces have been painted on wooden Ema plaques.

From Hellion Gallery:

Ema are small wooden plaques on which Shinto worshipers write their prayers or wishes. The ema are then left hanging up at the shrine, where the kami (spirits or gods) receive them. They bear various pictures, often of animals or other Shinto imagery, and many have the word gan’i (願意), meaning “wish”, written along the side. In ancient times people would donate horses to the shrines for good favor; over time this was transferred to a wooden plaque with a picture of a horse, and later still to the various wooden plaques sold today for the same purpose.
