Jeff’s work leapfrogs off the backs of classic naturalist painters like Audubon, Catesby, and Seguy. Re-contextualizing their scientific illustrations to a psychedelic world that glorifies the patterns, colors and shapes inherent in the natural world.
Jeff lives with his wife, daughter and dog in Portland, Oregon. He paints in his backyard studio, while long hikes, and adventures to hidden swimming holes, as well as his ever-growing collection of natural history books and preserved specimens provide an abundance of inspiration as he picks his way through each new psychedelic landscape.
His last name is pronounced "file".
