Jeff’s large-scale acrylic paintings fuse scientific and psychedelic aspects of natural history illustration, re-contextualizing the art form within the realms of altered perception, and pop art. The purpose of these images is no longer to assist in the identification of species, habitats, and biological systems, but instead to celebrate the natural world by exploring the line between representation and abstraction while simultaneously juxtaposing disparate natural elements, forcing the viewer to search for connections and extrapolate larger conclusions about the universe.
